Mahler, Symphony No.8 in E Flat Major, "Symphony of a Thousand", Part II

Titled "Symphony of a Thousand", Gustav Mahler's eighth symphony is an absolutely colossal piece of music, even for Mahler's standards. Some critics say this symphony is insincere and disingenuous in its sheer optimism and faith in humanity, as opposed to more pessimistic works of Mahler. However, this symphony is just as genuine as anything else Mahler wrote, and he said of the work, "There are no longer human voices, but planets and suns revolving."

Part II, Faust.
